VP of Sales- Material Handling Division
About the Position
This is an exciting new position to lead our expansion into the Material Handling market in North America. We have experienced 400% annual growth in this category in our European division in the last three years. Our Total Damage Prevention safety product systems are well-received by Fortune500 companies internationally and many of our clients are Top 20 retailers. Furthermore, MHI recently recognized us for creating one of the “Most Innovative Products of 2014”.
We are looking for a sales leader with a track record of success launching new products and solutions in the Material Handling Industry to build a direct sales force and collaborate with strategic partners to realize our full potential in this exciting new space.
The Work
Key Objectives:
- Build a base of high profile national accounts with repeat sales potential
- Create and execute on a sales plan for the Material Handling initiative
- Build a highly motivated, skilled, and integrated sales team
- Set and achieve all quarterly and annual sales goals
- Create the MarCom plan for Material handling, work with marketing to execute
Key Activities:
- Create sales forecasts, units, and dollars
- Maintain a sales pipeline
- Identify and focus on top 100 most notable accounts
- Achieve a targeted number of trial installations every quarter
- Identify and plan the role of direct sales, inside sales, dealer sales, and indirect marketing
- Help define and produce the trade shows we attend
- Find, keep, and grow a team of energized sales people with deep product and solution expertise
- Create territory plans, comp plans, and performance standards
- Execute an agreed pricing strategy
- Create the annual operating expense plan for Material Handling sales team
Areas of Responsibility:
- Strategic development and leadership of the Material Handling division
- Building the brand in the distribution industry
- Sales team recruitment and management
- Major account development and management

- A strong relationship with company president and fellow execute team members
- Ability to identify and attract strong talent
- Ability to clearly define and understand the customer needs
- Ability to build strong and lasting relationships
Position Requirements:
- A steady track record of meeting or exceeding sales objectives in the material handling systems industry
- Experience selling complex systems in the distribution center industry
- A demonstrated history of finding and closing large sales opportunities in the Fortune 500
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as an ability to present to C-level executives and close deals, sometimes worth millions of dollars
- Strong personal integrity and desire for success
- An ability to think very strategically
- A high sense of urgency
- A four year college degree
